Care for the people and the environment
Corporate social responsibility
One of the consequences of having developed a complete hybrid product line is that we regularly get questions from customers about our policy on sustainability. However, it’s not only in product development that we readily accept our responsibility for our planet, the people on it and the future. Many of the measures we take with regard to housing, personnel policy and procurement are also socially responsible. Things like LED lighting in our factory, placing plants in our offices and the attention we pay to creating a good ergonomic workplace. The little things also matter. And because we know we cannot do all this alone, we have joined CSR Netherlands. As a partner, we endorse the MVO Manifest of MVO Nederland/ CSR Netherlands.
SHE policy statement
Safety is a core value within Holland Lift and concerns the safety of our customers, the users of our machines and the safety of our employees. Safety for customers and users means building a machine that meets all safety requirements. Safety for our own employees means creating a safe working environment and the right protective equipment to work safely, and taking preventative and corrective measures to prevent personal injury as much as possible.
Our employees are the most important form of capital within our organization. Their health is essential for good business results. This begins with a good introduction for new employees. We promote healthy working through our anti-smoking policy, the possibility to have a preventive medical examination, the design of ergonomic workplaces and the provision of personal protective equipment. Absenteeism is closely monitored and, should it arise, we offer direct personal guidance. Mental health is monitored by our confidential counsellors, our individual training plans and through face-to-face meetings with the managers.
We aim for the smallest possible ecological footprint. We do this by, among other things, reducing energy consumption and CO2 emissions as much as possible, separating waste and using sustainable products wherever we can.
The preparation and implementation of SHE policy takes place monthly in a SHE consultation, and control is exercised in the monthly MT meetings. All business decisions take Safety, Health and Environment considerations into account. Increasing awareness among employees is the key objective of the SHE policy. This means moving from a reactive to a proactive approach to tackling SHE issues so that the SHE policy becomes something for everyone rather than a piece of paper in the files. We want to achieve proactivity by offering good information, providing the right training, setting a good example and by making each employee responsible
